Hi folks. The profile editor was down for a while due to some additional MySpace changes. During this period people were not able to load their existing profiles or automatically update their layouts. The problems have been fixed, and it should all be working correctly now. Thanks to everyone who reported this issue.

We made an update today to fix an issue where some users were not able to update their About Me or Who I'd like to meet sections of their MySpace profiles. The problems were due to recent layout changes made to these profile secitons by MySpace.

Some of you noticed that on 6/27 the automatic submission feature was not working for the saving of MySpace layouts and MySpace profiles edited with the MySpace profile editor. In addition, private profiles were not editable with the editor. These problems have been fixed. The problems were caused by MySpace making some subtle changes to the way profile submissions and captchas, which required us to make changes to our submission process to accomodate these MySpace changes. The layout popularity rating is now based on the number of times the MySpace layout has been viewed instead of the number of times the MySpace layout was marked in someone's favorite list. We will likely be updating this rating system to include other factors such as the number of times a layout was requested (Get) or automatically updated to a MySpace profile as well as the number of times a layout was applied from within the MySpace Profile Editor.

We've created a video that demonstrates how to use the MySpace profile editor to perform some key profile updates like re-sizing images, videos, graphics, uploading photos, formatting text, changing MySpace profile layouts, and deleting and moving objects between sections.
